1. Legal basis
The legal basis for this notice is the Electronic Communications Act (Official Gazette 109/2012, hereinafter ZEKom-1) and the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, in English: General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR, hereinafter referred to as GDPR), which introduced new rules regarding the use of cookies and similar technologies for storing information or accessing information stored on a user’s computer or mobile device.
2. What are cookies
A cookie is a file that stores website settings. Websites store cookies on users’ devices used to access the internet in order to recognize individual devices and the settings that users applied when accessing the site. Cookies enable websites to recognize whether a user has already visited the website and, in advanced applications, allow individual settings to be adjusted accordingly.
