More about Guide rings

Guide rings are used as piston or rod guiding elements and ensure precise alignment of moving components within hydraulic cylinders. They guide the piston centrally inside the cylinder bore or support the rod within the cylinder head, enabling stable and controlled motion.

By preventing direct contact between metallic cylinder components, guide rings absorb transverse forces generated during operation. This significantly reduces wear and protects both sealing and guiding surfaces.

Guide rings are commonly manufactured with straight or angled splits. Straight splits facilitate easier installation, while angled splits help minimize pressure build-up during operation. Guide strips are available in a range of advanced high-performance materials and play a key role in extending the service life of hydraulic cylinders.
