More about Static seals
Static seals are used for axial sealing between two stationary, flat machine components, such as flange connections and assemblies in process and mechanical engineering. Their sealing performance is based on uniform surface pressure, which ensures reliable separation of the mating surfaces.
A key material characteristic for static seals is the ability to retain shape under continuous load, as this directly affects long-term sealing reliability. Due to their simple geometry and broad applicability, O-rings are among the commonly used types of static seals.
O-rings are suitable for static applications as well as for selected dynamic uses and are available in a wide range of elastomer and TPE materials, allowing adaptation to diverse operating conditions.
